HUMPH!

Im sitting at Church after doing Spiritual formation and waiting for my Church History unit to start... The others are having Theology and they are studying Ethics and it sounds SO INTERESTING, now i am wishing that i had taken that unit non accredited but i know that i felt the need to just do two units this semester and after praying about it i know that i heard God saying that the two units should be Church History and Pastoral Care... But i want to be in there with everyone else doing Ethics and learning about what we think about Divorse and Cheating and Sex and all that other stuff that makes the world go round!
I want to be in there because that is such a painful subject when it gets messed with and i want to hear what everyone else thinks about it too.

Well this is about 45 minutes later and God Just sent one of my fellow students in here and we were talking for well 45 minutes about life and divorse and hard times and it was AWESOME.

God YOU ROCK!

So what are your views on what happens when your lover cheats on you?

Harry and Frankie

Well Harry Boy and Frank Pol, you guys are my late night inspiration to do a post.
Yep all your stories and long wordy posts have given me the urge to write something wordy and hopefully deep :-)

There is this song by Fire for Fighting (i think that is their name) called 100 years to live, and well when you get down to thinking about it that is not really a long time. I am almost a quarter way through my time here, and my parents are about half way there...
That is just plain scary and it really takes some guts to live in the light of that very significant fact.

I really think that i take alot of things for granted in my life, and i really wish that i could change my perspective.

Does anyone else out there feel like this?

Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.

Where do i start?

At the beginning maybe :)
SO anyway lots has been happening in the world of Des, so much has changed and so much has gone on so ill just ramble and hopefully u will get the complete picture after i have gone crazy with the words :)
I have just left the practice i have been working at for the last six years, man that was SUPER hard! I loved the people, my bosses were great, it was totally my comfort zone and i was very sad to leave. At the same time the practice had grown so big and i just dont think i grew with it, i just couldn't handle the stress and the stressed out people the growth created so i decided to do something about it i guess, i figure i spend a LARGE amount of my time at work so may as well be happy there. Thursday this week was my last day, OUCH i was crying a bit.
I started my new job today, it is in Mosman PArk, near the beach WHOOO HOOOO in summer! IT is a small practice jsut four of us (Vicky- my boss, Rhiannon- secretary, Grace- Therapist and Me- dental nurse). I was thrown in the deep end today cause Rhiannoon was sick so accelerated learning was good to kick start the system hahahaha. I like that i am in charge of all the nursing stuff, i can put everything where i want it to go and i can just be in charge of all my own stuff, dont have to rely on people to do stuff right, and dont have to be chasing after people telling them what to do either, that is cool.
So then there is the fact that almost EVERYONE is getting engaged, the circle of friends has changed heaps to a year ago, it kinda suck cause we all had so much FUN together, i guess life moves on though, gotta pray for some more FUN people to hang out with, hahaha like couple people i guess :)
Wierd how being a couple changes things, but then again lots of the people i hung with are all over the place with life and stuff it has thrown.
God is SO awesome! He takes good care of me, and he is just so AWESOME!!!!
Have you ever heard of Soul Ties, well let me tell you if you have i would take em very seriously cause they can be so damaging! If you havent then e mail me and ill tell ya all about em, or just talk to me when u see me, or do whatever it takes :)
No i take that back, i dont want any stalker people and wierdo's trying to get me to hear the soul tie story k, my GOD is HUGE and he has BIG Angels so watch out :):)
Yeah so changed jobs, adjusting to friendship changes oh and dropping some units at college, im just gonna do two next semester.
That is kinda sad two cause i have some awesome people there that i will miss dearly! Miss SAnda Mali and Miss Monitor MAya!
Ahh let the GOOD times roll!!!!!
I need to just drop units so i can really soak in the ones i am choosing to do and then keep doing my diploma slowly so that i can actually keep getting something out of it, cause it has been a bit purposeless lately because i have been so busy with everything. I wanna keep going there for the purpose i started and that was to grow in God.
Man i can be such a evangelit whimp at times and i am so gonna be working on that one! Gotta PRAY Boldness into me!
Well i hope this was long enough for ya all, Kelster :)
And i better get back to study.
Excuse any spelling errors
I was in a hurry
Love y'all
Thank you JESUS
Love Des

Think Big but do Bigger!

A Vision of Victory

Today's Scripture: "Sow your seed in the morning, and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good." (Ecclesiastes 11:6)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria:

Are you a dreamer?
We are, but we are also "doers."
If we are to accomplish God's best in our life, we have to be both. You need to dream big dreams and have what we call a vision of victory for your life, but you also have to put your faith into action. The Bible tells us "faith without works is dead."
If you are believing for a promotion at work, then you need to be the hardest most diligent worker there. If your dream is to be debt-free, then you are going to have to be careful how you spend and manage your money. If you are believing for a better marriage relationship, then sometimes you will have to give up your need to be right.
In whatever area of life you need an extra helping of God's blessings, continue to sow those seeds of encouragement, hope, faithfulness and live a disciplined life.
When you are faithful in doing what you know to be right, God will reward your diligence and you will reap a harvest of victory.

A Prayer for Today:
God, I am faithful in prayer and continue to strive to be a proactive Christian! Thank you for giving me the courage and the will to make the necessary changes that will help my dreams come true. In Jesus'
name, Amen.

Let Go and Let God

One by one God took them from me,
All the things i valued most,
Till i was empty-handed,
Every glittering toy was lost.

And i walked earth's highways grieving
In my rags and poverty
Till i heard His voice inviting
"Lift those empty hands to Me."

So i turned my hands toward heaven,
And He filled them with a store
Of His own transcendant riches
Till they could contain no more.

And at last i comprehended,
With my stupid mind and dull
That God could not pour His riches
Into hands already full.

Relationships

TRUST

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships.
When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship.

Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.
A telephone operator told me that one day she received a phone call.
She answered, "Public Utilities Board."
There was silence.
She repeated, "PUB."
There was still no answer.
When she was going to cut off the line, she Heard a lady's voice,
"Oh, so this is PUB.
Sorry, I got the number from my Husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is."
Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB".

NO POINTING FINGERS
A man asked his father-in-law,
"Many people praised you for a successful marriage.
Could you please share with me your secret?"
The father-in-law answered in a smile,
"Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you."

We all look forward to being loved and respected.
Many people are afraid of losing face.
Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at.
This is the start of a war.
We should always remember that when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves.
If we forgive the others, others will ignore our mistake too.

CREATING PERFECT RELATIONSHIPS?
A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage, SDU, and requested "I am looking for a spouse.
Please help me to find a suitable one."
The SDU officer said, "Your requirements, please."
"Oh, good looking, polite, humorous , sporty, knowledgeable, good in singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hour, if I don't go out. Telling me interesting stories when I need companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest."

The officer listened carefully and replied,
"I understand you need television."

There is a saying that a perfect match can only be found between a blind wife and a deaf husband ,because the blind wife cannot see the faults of the husband and the deaf husband cannot hear the nagging of the wife.

Many couples are blind and deaf at the courting stage and dream of perpetual perfect relationship.
Unfortunately, when the excitement of love wears off, they wake up and discover that marriage is not a bed of roses.
The nightmare begins.

NO OVERPOWERING
Many relationships fail because one party tries to overpower another,or demands too much.
People in love tend to think that love will conquer all and their spouses will change the bad habits after marriage.
Actually, this is not the case.
There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that
"It is easier to reshape a mountain or a river than a person's character."
It is not easy to change.
Thus, having high expectation on changing the spouse character will cause disappointment and unpleasantness.
It would be less painful to change ourselves and lower our expectations..

RIGHT SPEECH
There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that
"A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation."

Many relationships break off because of wrong speech.

When a couple is too close with each other,we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without considering if it would hurt the other party.

A friend and her millionaire husband visited their construction site.
A worker who wore a helmet saw her and shouted,
"Hi, Emily! Remember me? We used to date in the secondary school."
On the way home, her millionaire husband teased her,
"Luckily you married me.Otherwise you will be the wife of a construction worker."
She answered ,
"You should appreciate that you married me. Otherwise, he will be the millionaire and not you.
" Frequently exchanging these remarks plants the seed for a bad relationship. It's like a broken egg - cannot be reversed.

PERSONAL PERCEPTION
Different people have different perception.
One man's meat could be another man's poison.
A couple bought a donkey from the market.
On the way home,a boy commented,
"Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on the donkey?"
Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey.
He walked besides them.
Later, an old man saw it and commented, "The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?"
Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey. Further on the way home, they met an old Lady.
She commented, "How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman."
The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey.
Then, they met a young man.
He commented, "Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you.
" Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders.

It seems to be the only choice left.

Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled.
They lost their balance and fell into the river.

You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you.

Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future.

Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if our conscience is clear..

BE PATIENT
This is a true story which happened in the States.

A man came out of his home to admire his new truck.
To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck.
The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment.
When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital.
Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands.
When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, " Daddy,I'm sorry about your truck."
Then he asked,
"but when are my fingers going to grow back?"
The father went home & committed suicide.

Think about this story the next time someone steps on your feet or u wish to take revenge.
Think first before u lose your patience with someone u love.

Trucks can be repaired.. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't.

Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance.
We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.
People make mistakes.
We are allowed to make mistakes.
But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

Be Ready by Max Lucado

"No one knows when that day or time will be, not the angels in heaven, not eventhe Son. Only the Father knows." - Matthew 24:36 -

His message is unmistakable: He will return, but no one knows when.

So, be ready.

I was reminded of this not long ago when I boarded a plane.
I walked down the aisle, found my seat, and sat down next to a strange sight.
The man seated next to me was in a robe and slippers.
He was dressed for theliving room, not for a journey.
His seat was odd, too.
Whereas my seat was the cloth type you normally see, his was fine leather.

"Imported," he said, when he noticed I was looking.
"Bought it in Argentina and put it on myself.
"That was only the beginning.
His fold-down table was of mahogany.
There was aportable TV installed next to the window.
A tiny ceiling fan and globed ligh thung above us.
I had never seen anything like it.
My question was the obvious one, "Why did you spend so much time and expense on an airline seat?"

"I live here," he explained.
"I make my home on the plane.

"Incredible.
The man made a home out of a mode of transportation.
He made a residence out of a journey.

Hard to believe?

You think I'm stretching the truth?

Well, maybe I haven't seen such foolishness in a plane, but I have in life.
And so have you.
You've seen people treat this world like it was a permanent home.

It's not.

You've seen people pour time and energy into life like it will last forever.

It won't.

You've seen people so proud of what they have done, that they hope they will never have to leave-

they will.

We all will.

We are in transit.

Someday the plane will stop and the deboarding will begin.
Wise are those who are ready when the pilot says to get off.
I don't know much, but I do know how to travel.

Carry little.

Eat light.

Take a nap.

And get off when you reach the city.
